Over two decades. One game. Counter-Strike 2 rebuilds the legend on Source 2 — sharper, faster, deeper.

For over two decades, Counter-Strike has defined competitive tactical shooting. Two teams — Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists — face each other across a handful of objectives: plant or defuse the bomb, hold or storm the site, eliminate the opposition. The rules are simple. The mastery is not. Every round is a negotiation between information, economy, positioning and execution — and a single mistake can swing it entirely.

Counter-Strike 2 rebuilds the game from the ground up on Valve's Source 2 engine, the first major engine upgrade in the series' history. Dynamic smoke grenades now react to gunfire and explosions — shoot through them, scatter them with a grenade, blow holes through them with a flashbang. Sub-tick server architecture means that player inputs are registered precisely at the moment they occur rather than at the next server tick, improving hit registration and movement responsiveness. All CS:GO weapon skins and cosmetics carry over, updated with Source 2 lighting. The Premier competitive mode adds a map veto system, seasonal ratings and global leaderboards. Fully free to play — Prime Status upgrade available for ranked matchmaking access.
