Myst is a complete ground-up remake of the 1993 puzzle-adventure game that defined an era of PC gaming and remained the best-selling PC title for four years. Built in Unreal Engine 4 with fully three-dimensional free-roaming environments, it reimagines the five Ages of the original — Myst Island, Selenitic, Stoneship, Channelwood and Mechanical — plus the bonus Age of Rime, with new art, new sound and new interactions while preserving the same elegant logic at the heart of each puzzle. The experience is built equally for flatscreen and VR: every interaction has been designed to work in both modes, and VR players can physically reach out and manipulate the world. An optional puzzle randomization mode reshuffles the solutions for players who already know the original. Xbox Game Pass included the game at launch. Cyan, the studio that created the original, developed this remake themselves. Their sequel remake, Riven, was released in 2024.
