Four factions are locked in an epic conflict across the world of Aerbor. Arleon — knights of old fighting for dominance. Rana — ancient tribes surviving in the deep swamp. Loth — necromancers raising the dead to build a glorious future. Barya — bold mercenaries and inventors who follow only coin and gunpowder. At the head of each army stands a Wielder — a powerful magician who channels Ess, the lifeblood of magic, from the troops they command.

Songs of Conquest is a turn-based strategy game that wears its love for Heroes of Might and Magic III on its sleeve — and then surpasses it. On the overworld map, Wielders explore, capture buildings, recruit troops and collect resources to grow their kingdom. When armies meet, combat zooms into a tactical battle grid where positioning, unit abilities and the Wielder's spell arsenal determine the outcome. The Ess system ties magic directly to army composition: different troop types generate different Ess, which unlocks different spells, creating organic strategic tension between the troops you recruit and the magic you can cast. Four story campaigns, skirmish maps, online and local hotseat multiplayer, a map editor and Steam Workshop support give the game remarkable longevity. The Vanir DLC (December 2024) adds a fifth faction of Norse-inspired raiders.
