The 25th century. A new age of space exploration has begun. Astroneers are the brave few who venture to the frontiers of the solar system, terraforming alien worlds and pushing the boundaries of human knowledge. You are one of them. You land on an unknown planet with a Terrain Tool, a backpack, and a lot of questions. The answers are buried deep underground, in the cores of worlds no human has ever walked.

Astroneer is a sandbox adventure built around exploration and creativity across a seven-planet solar system, each world with its own geology, atmosphere, hazards and resources. The Terrain Tool reshapes the landscape like clay — dig, sculpt, flatten, mine — allowing players to carve paths, expose resources, and build entirely custom base layouts. Everything is modular and snaps together: power generators, research chambers, chemistry labs, railways and eventually the infrastructure needed to launch a rocket and reach the next world. Up to four players can share a session online or through Xbox local co-op. Free updates have continued since launch — Glitchwalkers (2024) added a digital hacking storyline and Megatech (2024) added large-scale automation systems. Available on Xbox Game Pass.
