Avowed

The Living Lands are a remote island at the edge of the Aedyr Empire — wild, strange, and home to peoples the Empire has long ignored. Now a mysterious plague called the Dream Scourge is spreading across the island, corrupting its inhabitants and threatening to spill beyond its shores. You are the Empire's envoy, sent to investigate and contain it. What begins as a diplomatic mission becomes something far more personal: the land itself seems to recognise you, and the plague's source is tied to something deep within your own history.

Avowed is set in the world of Eora, established by Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity series, but is fully accessible to newcomers. It is a first-person RPG with an optional third-person view, built around fluid combat that mixes spells, melee weapons and early firearms in any combination. Freeze an enemy with a spell and shatter them with a hammer. Dual-wield a pistol and a wand. Block with a shield while your grimoire charges a lightning strike. Four companions — Kai, Giatta, Marius and Yatzli — each bring their own abilities, questlines and personality to your party. The world is divided into distinct handcrafted zones rather than a fully open world, keeping exploration dense and authored.

Key Features: • Fluid combat — mix spells, melee, firearms and shields in any combination • Four companions with full questlines, abilities and reactive dialogue • Set in Eora (Pillars of Eternity universe) — standalone, no prior knowledge needed • First-person and optional third-person view • Handcrafted zones with dense exploration • Choices shape faction relationships and companion stories • Ray tracing • DLSS/FSR
