Across countless parallel worlds, each with its own version of Bayonetta, a new enemy called the Homunculi is erasing them one by one. The Bayonetta of the main world must travel the multiverse, meet her counterparts and face what is hunting them all before nothing is left.

Bayonetta 3 is a character action game that expands the series' combat identity with the Demon Masquerade system, allowing Bayonetta to merge with her demon familiars and fight as a hybrid of human and creature simultaneously. Each demon has its own moveset and physics, transforming how combos chain and how space is controlled. The original Torture Attack summon system returns alongside the new Demon Slave mechanic, letting massive demons be directly controlled during combat while Bayonetta continues fighting independently. Viola is a second playable protagonist with a completely distinct combat style built around sword throwing and parrying. Witch Time activates on a perfect dodge as always, but the conditions and timing windows vary between Bayonetta and Viola. The multiverse structure sends the narrative across visually distinct alternate worlds, each introducing a different version of Bayonetta and a unique environment. Kaiju-scale set pieces pit summoned demons against enormous Homunculi across city-sized battlefields.
