Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is a free-to-play anime-styled MMORPG built on the world and visual identity of the original Blue Protocol, reimagined for PC and mobile by Tencent-backed studio Bokura after Bandai Namco shut down the Japanese original in January 2025. The game runs on a mega-server where all global players share the same open world, enabling chance encounters, spontaneous co-operation and large-scale worldwide events without server fragmentation. Five weapon-based classes each have talent trees that encourage frequent respeccing rather than locking into rigid roles. Instanced dungeons and large-scale raids require coordinated party play. Between combat, players can fish, craft, maintain player housing, trade on the market and participate in guild activities. The character creator offers deep anime-style customisation. Cross-platform play connects PC and mobile players. A gacha system provides limited cosmetics and characters. The Monogatari Series anime collaboration launched in May 2026.
