The ColdTech system simulates sub-zero temperatures as a tactical layer — troops caught in blizzards without shelter lose health, advance planning becomes survival planning, and the harshest winters become weapons in their own right. Line of sight is simulated through the TrueSight system, where every unit sees only what its position and the terrain genuinely allow. Cover, suppression, flanking and combined arms remain the pillars of every engagement. The multiplayer metagame spans six factions across the base game and its standalone expansions. A Theatre of War co-op mode adds historical scenario missions. The Steam Workshop houses thousands of community maps and mods.
