Engineer Isaac Clarke boards the USG Ishimura for a repair job. The crew is dead.

* Prices for US region
The year is 2508. Engineer Isaac Clarke is aboard the repair crew sent to the USG Ishimura, a planet-cracking mining ship that has gone silent. What they find is not a technical fault — it is a massacre. The crew has been transformed into grotesque creatures called Necromorphs, reanimated by something the ship excavated from below. Isaac's only weapon is the engineering tools he carries. His only goal is to find out what happened to Nicole, his partner, somewhere in the ship's depths.

Dead Space is a complete ground-up rebuild of the 2008 survival horror classic, developed in EA's Frostbite engine with no loading screens between areas — the entire USG Ishimura presented as a single seamless environment. The defining mechanic is strategic dismemberment: Necromorphs do not die from body shots, only from severing their limbs in specific combinations, turning every encounter into a tense targeting exercise under pressure. Isaac now speaks, with Gunnar Wright reprising the role from Dead Space 2 and 3, allowing him to react to and engage with other characters rather than being a silent protagonist. Lore from Dead Space 2 and 3 has been woven into the remake's environment and audio logs, deepening the world. Zero-gravity traversal is fully three-dimensional rather than the surface-jumping of the original. EA made an explicit decision not to include microtransactions. The game was nominated for the Golden Joystick Award for Ultimate Game of the Year.
