A new fisherman arrives at The Marrows, a remote island community. The locals are odd. The water is dark. A mysterious figure on the dock wants you to collect things from the deep — relics, creatures, curios — and asks no questions about why. By day the sea is calm and the fishing is good. At night something changes in the water, and you do not want to be out when it does.

DREDGE is a single-player fishing adventure wrapped around a cosmic horror narrative in the tradition of H.P. Lovecraft. Five distinct archipelagos form an open world connected by sea routes that grow increasingly hostile after dark. Each region has its own aesthetic, inhabitants, secrets and aberration species — fish mutated by something in the deep that should not exist. The core loop of catching fish, selling them, upgrading the boat and unlocking new regions is satisfying on its own; the story layered beneath it, told through environmental details, NPC dialogue and the increasingly disturbing nature of what the Collector wants, gives the game a slowly building dread that lingers long after the credits roll. Inventory management uses a grid-based puzzle system for fitting equipment and catch into the boat's hold. Three DLC expansions add new regions, story chapters and mechanics. Available on all major platforms including iOS, Android and GOG.
