Escape from Tarkov is the original extraction shooter — a hardcore, realistic first-person survival game set in the fictional Russian city of Tarkov, torn apart by political collapse and warring factions. After eight years of beta development and over 400 updates, version 1.0 launched on November 15, 2025. You play as a PMC operative from either the Western USEC faction or the Russian BEAR faction, dropped into one of Tarkov's ravaged districts with nothing but your prepared loadout and the goal of extracting alive with whatever loot you can carry.
