The Traveler arrived in Teyvat with their twin, and then an Unknown God separated them. The twin is somewhere in this world of seven nations. Each nation is ruled by an Archon tied to a different element. Each has a secret. The search will take a very long time, and everything along the way is worth seeing.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action RPG in which the player controls a team of four characters, swapping between them in real time to chain elemental abilities and trigger reactions. Seven elements — Anemo, Pyro, Hydro, Electro, Dendro, Cryo, Geo — interact with each other through a reaction system where combining them creates powerful effects: Freeze, Vaporize, Bloom, Overloaded, Quicken and others. Building teams that exploit these reactions is the game's central strategic depth. The world of Teyvat grows continuously with every six-week update, adding new regions, new characters, new story chapters and new events. Each major nation has its own visual identity, mythology and soundtrack recorded with live orchestras. Characters are obtained through the game's gacha banner system using Wishes, with a guaranteed pity system that ensures a five-star character within a known number of pulls. Most story content, all exploration, and cooperative multiplayer are fully playable for free. The game is distributed on PC through HoYoverse's own HoYoPlay launcher with full cross-platform progression.
