Start as a wanderer. Build an army, conquer a kingdom and write your own chapter in Calradia's history.

The empire of Calradia is fracturing. Eight factions are fighting over the ruins. The player begins as no one in particular — a wanderer with a horse, a weapon and no obligations — and everything that follows is built from choices made in the field, in the market and in the throne room.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a medieval sandbox RPG and real-time battle commander that spans two distinct layers of gameplay. On the strategic map, the player manages a clan across Calradia's political landscape — trading, raiding, recruiting, forging alliances, declaring war and eventually claiming fiefs and founding a kingdom. On the battlefield, the player commands troops in real-time from a first-person perspective, issuing orders to infantry, cavalry and archers while fighting personally in a directional melee system where attacks and blocks have eight angles and timing matters. Battles scale from skirmishes of twenty soldiers to sieges of several hundred, with castle and city sieges introducing towers, battering rams, ladders and wall breaches. The character progression system covers combat skills, social attributes, smithing, riding, trade and leadership. Steam Workshop hosts thousands of mods including total conversions set in historical periods, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings and custom campaigns. Multiplayer supports competitive modes and custom servers.
