A new continent has been discovered beyond the western sea. The Vikings call it Northgard. It is cold, unexplored and full of things that will kill a poorly managed settlement before the second winter. A clan has landed. The work begins.

Northgard is a real-time strategy game rooted in Norse mythology in which the player establishes and expands a Viking settlement across a procedurally generated tile map, managing food, wood, gold, knowledge and happiness while defending against mythological threats and competing clans. The core tension is resource management across a seasonal cycle: summer allows growth and expansion, winter punishes excess population and thin stockpiles. Each of the game's twelve-plus playable clans has a fundamentally different playstyle built into its mechanics — the Clan of the Wolf fights its way to victory, the Clan of the Raven wins through trade, the Clan of the Snake relies on infiltration and sabotage. Victory conditions include military conquest, fame, trading dominance and lore mastery. A full campaign follows the story of Rig and his clan across handcrafted scenario maps. Multiplayer supports up to six players in competitive and cooperative modes with a ranked ladder. The Ragnarok DLC adds a destructive endgame scenario in which volcanic eruptions and the end of the world reshape the map mid-game.
