Eight travellers. Eight stories. One world of Solistia — where every path eventually crosses in the dark.

The world of Solistia is entering a new era — steam power, sea trade, gas lamps and the first stirrings of industrial change alongside the old magic and swordplay. Eight travellers set out from eight different corners of this world, each with a completely separate reason: a scholar imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, a dancer searching for her missing father, a warrior seeking to prove his worth through honourable duel, a thief trying to escape a life of servitude, a hunter tasked with capturing legendary beasts, an apothecary trying to remember who she was, a merchant determined to save her company, and a cleric sheltering a mysterious child. Their paths begin apart. Eventually, they will cross.

Octopath Traveler 2 builds on the acclaimed HD-2D visual style of the first game — retro 2D pixel art sprites inhabiting fully three-dimensional, dynamically lit environments — and expands almost every system. Each traveller has two Path Actions, one usable by day and one by night, creating entirely different ways to interact with the world and its NPCs. The Break and Boost combat system rewards exploiting enemy weaknesses to shatter their guard and unleashing stored boost points for devastating combos. Latent Powers — ultimate abilities unique to each character — build through combat and turn the tide in critical moments. The eight individual stories are written to standalone quality, and the crossing-path moments between them are among the best narrative surprises the series has offered.
