In the world of Aionios, two nations — Keves and Agnus — have been locked in endless war for generations. The soldiers who fight it are born into service and granted only ten years of life, measured by a glowing flame on their chests. Noah is an off-seer from Keves, a soldier who plays music to guide the fallen. Mio is his counterpart from Agnus. When a chance encounter forces six soldiers from both sides to trust each other, they discover a truth about their world that neither nation wants them to know.
