The dark fantasy FPS that changed everything — enhanced for today, faithful to the legend. You are Ranger.

The UAC's slipgate experiments have been sabotaged by a hostile force codenamed Quake. Soldier after soldier has been sent through — none have returned. You are Ranger, armed with a shotgun and a mission to travel through the slipgates, find what's on the other side, and destroy it. What waits in the darkness is something between nightmare and legend: possessed knights, ogres with chainsaws, shambling horrors, and at the end of it all, an ancient malevolent god.

Released in 1996 as the successor to Doom, Quake was id Software's first fully three-dimensional game and one of the most influential first-person shooters ever made. It pioneered true 3D environments, real-time lighting, online deathmatch over the internet, and laid the groundwork for the Half-Life and Counter-Strike engines that would follow. The 2021 Enhanced Edition, developed by Nightdive Studios, brings the game to modern platforms with 4K and widescreen support, enhanced models and lighting, the original Trent Reznor soundtrack, cross-platform multiplayer and co-op, and two new expansion packs by MachineGames. Both original mission packs — Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity — are included. Existing Steam owners received the Enhanced Edition as a free update.

Key Features: • Full 3D gothic dark fantasy FPS across four episodes — military bases, medieval castles, dungeons • Enhanced Edition: 4K, widescreen, enhanced models, dynamic coloured lighting, anti-aliasing • Original Trent Reznor / Nine Inch Nails soundtrack included • Cross-platform • Free curated add-ons • 4 included expansions: Scourge of Armagon, Dissolution of Eternity, Dimension of the Past, Dimension of the Machine
