Build and manage a thriving city, keep residents happy and survive the occasional meteor strike or zombie outbreak.

Your city is growing. The residents want more housing. The housing requires materials. The materials require production chains. The production chains require factories. The factories generate pollution. The residents complain about the pollution. This is city management, and it has been this way since 1989.

SimCity BuildIt is a city building simulation in which the player constructs and expands a city by managing residential zones, service buildings and a production chain network. Residences level up when their demand for services — fire protection, police, healthcare, transport — is met and when goods produced through the factory chain are delivered to construction sites. The production chain works in stages: raw resources are processed into components, components into finished goods, and finished goods unlock building upgrades. Disasters including fires, zombie outbreaks and meteor strikes can be triggered for rewards or occur as random events requiring emergency response. The Trade HQ enables commerce with other players' cities. Mayor's Contest provides seasonal competitive objectives against other players. Satellite towns expand the player's territory beyond the main capital. The SimCity brand, originally launched in 1989 and responsible for defining the city builder genre, underpins BuildIt's identity.
