Dubai. Buried in sand. Search for Colonel Konrad. This is not the game you think it is.

Spec Ops: The Line is a third-person cover shooter developed by Yager Development and published by 2K Games — a game that presents itself as a generic military action game and methodically dismantles that expectation from the inside. Loosely adapting Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness to a near-future Dubai buried by catastrophic sandstorms, you play as Captain Martin Walker, leader of an elite Delta Force team sent to find survivors after Colonel Konrad's battalion went silent. What begins as a routine reconnaissance mission becomes a descent into moral collapse, atrocity and psychological disintegration.

Key Features: • Military shooter deconstruction — the game turns its conventions against the player deliberately • Heart of Darkness adaptation — Conrad's novella transplanted to a sandstorm-buried Dubai • White phosphorus scene — the definitive moment of player implication in gaming history • Multiple endings reflecting Walker's psychological disintegration across the campaign
