Washington D.C. is falling. A sleeper agent is activated. Seven months after the outbreak.

Seven months after a weaponised virus swept through New York, a similar outbreak has reached Washington D.C. Three armed factions have carved up the capital between them. A network of sleeper agents — Division agents — has been activated. You are one of them.

The Division 2 is a third-person online looter shooter set in a photorealistic recreation of Washington D.C., its landmarks overgrown and contested seven months into a societal collapse. The city is divided among three hostile factions — the True Sons, the Hyenas, the Outcasts — whose settlements, patrols and fortifications define the open world. The player levels up through the main campaign, which culminates in a fourth endgame faction seizing the Capitol, triggering a higher-difficulty replay of the city. Endgame progression is driven by the Gear Score system — acquiring better loot to tackle harder content — across Strongholds, Invaded missions, the eight-player Raid Operation Dark Hours, and the three Dark Zones, which are contaminated areas where agents can fight both enemies and each other in a PvPvE format. Specialisations and skills define combat roles. Up to four players can complete all content in online co-op. A seasonal model has continued updating the game through Year 6.

Key Features: • Open-world Washington D.C.: three hostile factions, landmark districts and a living overgrown city
