A squad-level fortification building system allows defensive positions to be constructed dynamically in battle. Crucially, no paid DLC was ever released — all maps and game modes arrived free as Tides of War seasonal updates across six major content drops. The Definitive Edition on Steam includes all Year 1 and Year 2 cosmetics, weapons, vehicles and gadgets in a single purchase. Active development ended in April 2020.
