Louisiana's backwaters hide monsters worth a fortune. Track them. Kill them. Escape. Or die trying, permanently.

The year is 1896. In the corrupted backwaters of Louisiana, ancient monsters roam — creatures that defy natural law and draw bounty hunters from across the frontier. You are one of them. Your mission is to track a specific monster, kill it, banish its soul, claim the bounty token, and reach an extraction point alive. Other hunters are after the same bounty. Some will cooperate until the moment is right. Others will shoot on sight. You can lose everything — your hunter, your gear, your hard-earned progress — the moment you die.

Hunt: Showdown is a PvPvE extraction shooter built around extraordinary tension. Every session is a permanent-death engagement where information is the most valuable resource: knowing where the monster lair is, where the other hunters are, and when to push or retreat defines every round. Sound design is legendary — distant gunshots, breaking glass and rustling wildlife all carry tactical information across maps that reward years of spatial knowledge. The 2024 relaunch as Hunt: Showdown 1896 upgraded the game to CRYENGINE 5.11, added the Colorado map Mammon's Gulch, and dropped support for last-gen consoles. Progression and cosmetics carry over fully from the original. Solo, duo and trio play all available throughout.

Key Features: • PvPvE extraction loop — track a boss, kill it, extract with the bounty while other hunters hunt you • Permadeath — lose your hunter and all their gear if you die and fail to extract • Legendary sound design — audio is a full tactical information system • 1896 relaunch: CRYENGINE 5.11 • Solo, duo or trio play - cross-platform matchmaking
