The Altarstone Kingdom is under siege from Mages — twisted beings consumed by elemental chaos who tear through villages and leave ruin behind. As a condemned criminal spared from execution in exchange for a lifetime of service, you become a Marked Inquisitor: a hunter tasked with pursuing, tracking and destroying every Mage you find. You choose your crime, your class and your appearance. Then the hunt begins.

Salt and Sacrifice is a 2D action platformer soulslike built around Mage Hunts — encounters where you chase a powerful boss enemy through a zone as it tries to flee, ambushes you with minions, and eventually has to be cornered and killed. Each defeated Mage drops unique crafting materials for weapons and armour themed to their element. The world is split into five distinct zones across a large labyrinthine map. Online co-op supports up to two players throughout the entire game. Patch 2.0 (The Traitor's Tomb), released alongside the Steam and Switch launch, added an entire new dungeon area, new enemies, bosses and NPCs, and full cross-platform play. Developed entirely by husband and wife team James and Michelle Juett Silva — a two-person studio.
