SILENT HILL 2

James Sunderland's wife Mary died of an illness three years ago. Then he receives a letter in her handwriting saying she is waiting for him in Silent Hill — the town where they spent their happiest days together. James drives there. The town is abandoned, wrapped in fog, and populated by creatures that seem to embody something other than biology. Whatever Silent Hill is showing James, it is showing him something specific to him alone.

Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the 2001 psychological horror game widely considered one of the greatest horror games ever made, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 by Polish developer Bloober Team with the original composer Akira Yamaoka and creature designer Masahiro Ito returning to oversee the project. The remake shifts from fixed cameras to an over-the-shoulder perspective, expands the map with previously inaccessible areas and entirely new locations, and modernises combat with dodge mechanics and improved enemy encounters. The story, themes and symbolism of the original are carried over completely intact — a narrative about guilt, grief and self-deception told through the lens of psychological horror at a level few games reach. Multiple endings return, determined by subtle gameplay choices throughout the run. Bloober Team's faithfulness to the source material earned widespread critical praise for a studio whose previous games had drawn mixed responses.

Key Features: • Complete rebuild in Unreal Engine 5 - over-the-shoulder camera, expanded map • Original story, themes and symbolism preserved • Composer Akira Yamaoka + creature designer Masahiro Ito from the original team • Dodge mechanics - new enemy encounters
