Ana Spelunky — daughter of the original game's hero — has followed her parents to the Moon, only to find them missing somewhere in its vast, treacherous cave systems. There is no map. No checkpoints. Death resets everything. The caves, however, are never the same twice.

Spelunky 2 builds upon every system of the original while making each feel denser, more interactive and more surprising. Levels branch, offering multiple paths with different risk-reward profiles. Dynamic liquid physics let water and lava flow realistically through environments, creating emergent hazards and opportunities that no designer planned. Animals — turkeys, giant spiders, rock dogs — can be tamed and ridden. The shopkeeper has a whole extended family with their own attitudes toward theft. A Base Camp between runs fills with characters unlocked through play, offering shortcuts and practice. The mysteries buried in the deepest caves require sustained community effort to unravel — hidden paths, secret items and alternate endings that took months for the player community to fully map after launch. Up to four players cooperate online or split-screen locally, with cross-play available between PC, Switch and Xbox.
