The Zed outbreak has spread from Britain to continental Europe. Cities have fallen. Governments have collapsed. The Horzine Corporation's monstrous clones — Clots, Gorefasts, Scrakes, Fleshpounds and worse — roam free across Paris, the Biotics Lab and dozens of other locations. You and up to five other survivors must hold out across escalating waves and face a boss at the end. Die, and you respawn next wave with nothing. Survive, and you earn Dosh to spend at the Trader Pod between rounds.

Killing Floor 2 is a co-op wave survival shooter built around class perks and visceral, crowd-pleasing gore. Ten perks — Berserker, Commando, Support, Demolitionist, Firebug, Gunslinger, Medic, Sharpshooter, Survivalist and SWAT — each bring unique weapons, active abilities and passive bonuses that level up through playtime. The MEAT system tracks every bullet hit, explosion and melee impact on enemy bodies with a persistent gore simulation — limbs separate, wounds accumulate and the floor genuinely fills with blood across longer sessions. Seasonal events (Halloween, Christmas, Summer) replace the standard boss with themed alternates and add exclusive cosmetics. Steam Workshop support allows community maps, weapons and cosmetics. Free updates have continued since 2016 and Tripwire has never charged for content beyond cosmetic DLC. Killing Floor 3 announced August 2023.
