Bohemia, 1403. A blacksmith's son, no sword skills and a war to survive. No magic. No shortcuts.

Henry is a blacksmith's son from Skalice, a village in the Bohemian countryside, 1403. When a Hungarian mercenary army burns the village and kills his parents, Henry survives by accident and sets out on a path that will pull him into the dynastic war between Sigismund and Wenceslas IV, two brothers fighting for the Bohemian crown. He starts the game unable to fight, read or ride. Everything has to be learned.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first-person historical RPG set in medieval Bohemia with no fantasy elements, no magic and no player chosen backstory. The world is a historically researched reconstruction of the Sázava river valley, populated with authentic architecture, agriculture, economics and social hierarchies. Henry's skills improve only through use — sword skill increases by fighting with a sword, speechcraft by having conversations, stealth by moving quietly. Combat is a stamina and positioning system where timing, direction and the clinch mechanic all matter more than levelling. The open world is fully explorable with a day-night cycle, weather, a wanted system for crimes witnessed by NPCs, and a hunger and sleep mechanic that affects Henry's condition. Five DLC expansions add new areas and questlines: From the Ashes, The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon, Band of Bastards, A Woman's Lot and Treasures of the Past. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II released in February 2025.
